Terms of Service
Last updated July 7, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Human Redacted website and service (the "Service"), operated by Ilectronica Sales & Services Inc., a company incorporated in the Province of Quebec, Canada ("Ilectronica", "we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Description of the Service
The Service allows a registered user ("Author") to submit a written work and an accompanying attestation (the "Oath") that the Author is the sole human author of that work and that no artificial intelligence was used in its creation. The Service records the submission, issues a unique certificate, and generates a QR code linking to a public page displaying that certificate.
The Service records what an Author swears to be true. It does not independently verify authorship, originality, or the presence or absence of AI-generated content. See our Legal Disclaimer for further detail.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate registration information and keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction to create an account.
3. The Oath and Your Content
When you submit an article, you represent and warrant that: (a) you are the sole human author of the submitted work; (b) no artificial intelligence tool was used to generate the submitted text; (c) the work does not infringe any third party's intellectual property or other rights; and (d) you have the right to submit the work and grant the licenses described below.
Submitting a false Oath is a material breach of these Terms and may result in suspension or termination of your account without notice.
You retain all ownership rights in the articles you submit. You grant Ilectronica a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and display the metadata of your submission (title, author name, certificate ID, and certification date) on the public verification page. Ilectronica does not publish the full text of your submission publicly.
4. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- submit a false or bad-faith Oath;
- submit content that infringes another party's rights;
- attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with the security or proper functioning of the Service;
- use the Service to harass, defame, or mislead any person, or for any unlawful purpose.
5. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, branding, and underlying software, is owned by Ilectronica and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use Ilectronica's trademarks or branding without prior written consent.
6. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for suspected breach of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY CERTIFICATE ACCURATELY REFLECTS THE TRUE AUTHORSHIP OF ANY SUBMITTED WORK.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ILECTRONICA AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING RELIANCE BY ANY THIRD PARTY ON A CERTIFICATE ISSUED THROUGH THE SERVICE. IN NO EVENT SHALL ILECTRONICA'S TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF THESE TERMS EXCEED ONE HUNDRED CANADIAN DOLLARS (CAD $100).
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ilectronica from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your Oath, or your submitted content.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Quebec, Canada.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date on this page. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
